Anti-Wrinkle - Botox

Anti-wrinkle injections otherwise referred to as botox is commonly used to treat wrinkles and smooth out fine lines.

Wrinkles, fine lines, laughter lines are normal part of ageing, the older we get the more elastin and collagen we loose in our skin and naturally lines of ageing appear. Botox is the quickest of the fixes to get rid and slow down the signs of ageing.

Botox is a neurotoxin known as botulinum toxin. When injected the muscles underlying the skin, it stops them from receiving signals to move. Therefore the muscles don't move the wrinkles already there will begin to fade and more wrinkles will not appear. You will still be able to feel in the area, but not be able to move as before.

This treatment can also be used to treat excessive sweating under the arm.

The effects of this treatment last about 3-4 months depending on your own natural body, it can last longer or even less. Regular treatments are required to maintain and as a preventive.

Side effects

Everybody's side effects vary but the most common are, swelling, bruising, redness, mild pain, headache & flu like symptoms, temporary weakness, drooping face and eyelids. Allergic reactions are rare.

Aftercare

Keep moving treated area for 1 hour
Do not lie flat for more than 4 hours
No bending down for 4 hours
Avoid touching and rubbing the area
Do not wear any accessories which may press on the area treated
Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours
Do not swim for 24 hours
Do not go on any sun beds for 48 hours
Avoid applying makeup on treated area for that day
It can take up to 14 days for full effects to appear
